When we arrived at the Truchas house for the first site visit, the previous owner hadn't done much work except a new corten roof. Dirt floors, openings covered with plywood, falling adobe. We designed and completed the renovation, having to accommodate modern energy codes without losing the characteristic integrity of the original structure. Lime plaster and other natural materials are left without much fuss to let the natural beauty take center attention. Full length front and back portals support the best of New Mexican living - outside with the view.
