This renovation engages an 1880s adobe structure in Lemitar through a careful recalibration of existing earthen fabric. Original adobe walls were preserved and reinforced through compatible plaster systems that maintain permeability while restoring structural continuity.

The project is grounded in traditional New Mexican building logic, where adobe is not treated as historic artifact but as an active material system still capable of performance. Each intervention followed the building’s original rhythms—thick-wall massing, hand-applied plaster, and slow environmental adaptation.
