This stabilization work at Jemez Mission Church focused on reinforcing historic stone and mortar systems without disrupting the original structural logic. The intervention followed the existing load paths and material composition of the church’s earthen-stone construction.

Rather than reconstruction, the project prioritizes preservation through compatibility—ensuring that new mortar work and capping sheds water to mitigate internal degradation of the original structure.
